A refined Tabriz in wool, this antique rug measures 11' 10" x 15' 3". A large central medallion radiates through a field of scrolling floral vines and palmettes, the composition framed by multiple narrow guard borders. The colourway reads as softened red and warm neutrals, cream, ivory and tan, with medium distress that reveals gentle abrash and a muted, low-sheen pile. Surface wear has softened some details while preserving the overall medallion geometry and floral network. Circa 1885 - 1900. The result is a quietly aged study in Tabriz design and tactile, timeworn wool craft.
