A restrained Sarab runner in wool, this antique rug balances a warm neutral field with brown and gold grounding tones and bright turquoise and coral accents. The central field is a repeated palmette lattice, each motif softened by age; a sequence of narrow guard borders introduces floral and leaf motifs that read like a measured frame. Wear is minimal, the pile low and velvety with a soft patina that reveals hand-aged colour variation. The piece measures 3' 9" x 9' 6" and reads as both tactile and thoughtfully composed. Circa 1885 - 1915.
