Fine silk Kysari presented in a disciplined, panelled layout of nine compartments, each containing palmettes, stylised boteh and a small architectural motif. Warm cream and beige grounds carry faint coral and pale green accents. Medium distress and even abrash have softened the silk to a tactile, low sheen and gently blurred the outlines of the design. Narrow floral borders frame the field with a faded, linear rhythm. This antique rug reads as a quietly collected object, its age legible in softened pattern edges and mellowed pile. Circa 1895 - 1910. Size: 6' 6" x 8' 8".
