The field reads in pale neutrals and cream, punctuated by cool blue accents and muted rust notes within an all-over floral arabesque and repeating palmettes. High distress has reduced the pile to a velvety sheen, creating abrash and painterly washes across the pattern while borders remain delicately softened. The tactile silk and timeworn surface give this antique rug the quiet cadence of age and making, an object that feels both fragile and resolute. Circa 1895 - 1915.
