A Chinese wool rug measuring 8' 8" x 11' 4" in a soft neutral field framed by a deep wine border. A scalloped, cloud-like medallion reads in concentric pink and purple bands while delicate floral sprays and trailing stems populate the field. The pile retains a plush hand with low distress, subtle abrash and a gentle central impression that speaks to age without heavy damage. The restrained palette, cream, rose, mauve and a rich red frame, reads tactile and restrained. Circa 1900 - 1920. This antique rug balances decorative clarity with a quietly worn, heritage character.
