This Kysari in silk presents a saturated red field punctuated by cream and white botanical motifs rendered with a finely worked hand. A compact, mihrab-like garden composition hosts stylized trees, birds and small animals, contained by a narrow floral border in neutral tones. Surface luster from the silk remains, the structure showing low distress with soft abrash and restrained wear that reads as lived-in patina. The piece reads as an antique rug with an intimate scale, 4' 3" x 5' 3", its palette and craft suggesting an earlier era of studio weaving. Circa 1860 - 1880
