An elongated European wool runner softened by time, 3' 10" x 15' 5", its neutral field reduced to a whisper of pale grey, sage and warm beige. A central chain of lozenge medallions reads like a faded spine, while narrow borders of angular motifs and small rosettes are faint beneath an even, high distress. The surface shows pronounced abrash and softened pile, a tactile, weathered patina that speaks to age and craft. This antique rug balances restraint and pattern, its worn surface intrinsic to the composition. Circa 1900 - 1915
