This Kysari is a refined silk antique rug in a panelled composition of small landscape and tree vignettes. The 4' 9" x 6' 0" size centers a warm cream field punctuated by red pictorial panels and a soft neutral border, where floral scrolls frame each scene. The silk weave gives a tactile, low-sheen surface that reads as quiet and tactile; colour has mellowed with age to a restrained palette. Condition is low-distress, with delicate abrash and even wear that enhance the rug's painterly quality. Circa 1890 - 1905. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
