A silk Kysari, 4' 9" x 6' 6", with a deep red field organized around a central tree of life and populated by stylised animals and birds. Cream and white motifs float against a warm neutral ground, the silk pile throwing a soft, aged sheen. Pale foliate borders frame the figural field, their details preserved with low surface wear and subtle abrash. The piece reads as both narrative and refined textile craft, an antique rug that balances figuration, texture, and a tactile sense of time. Circa 1850 - 1865. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
