An elegant Sarab runner in wool, the piece measures 3' 6" x 15' 3" and reads as a study in restrained color and pattern. A procession of octagonal medallions and floral roundels runs the length of a warm neutral field, each set within stepped lozenge frames and balanced by serrated guard borders. Rich red grounds and brown accents are tempered by pale neutral bands, producing a quiet tactile patina. Condition is low-distress with subtle abrash and preserved pile that reveal the rug's age and making. This antique rug feels both spare and richly worked. Circa 1885 - 1900
