A silk Kysari defined by a scalloped central medallion and an intricate floral vine field, this antique rug reads as quietly layered and tactile. The 6' 6" x 9' 8" plane pairs muted red with ivory and brown accents, framed by multiple guard borders that include palmettes and stylised animal panels. Medium distress has softened the motifs and produced warm abrash across the field; the silk catchingly reveals tonal depth and a low sheen. Circa 1885 - 1900, the piece retains an immediate presence, an aged surface where pattern and wear converge into a refined, heritage expression of craft.
