An expansive Tabriz in soft, sun-worn neutrals, this antique rug measures 11' 7" x 18' 8" and reads like an archive of slow patination. The wool field holds an all-over floral medallion lattice with palmettes and arabesque stems that have mellowed into a warm ground of beige, brown and whispering red. A muted blue-green scrolling border frames the composition while medium wear and gentle abrash create a layered, tactile surface. The restrained palette and worn highlights read as considered restraint, revealing a measured, antique sensibility.
