Afghan Silk / 12334

This Afghan Silk is an intimate study in silk tone and geometry. At 4' 4" x 5' 3" the piece pairs an ivory ground with deep brown stepped guls and small red punctuations, set within narrow guard borders and a lattice outer edge. The silk has a soft sheen and low distress; fringes show gentle wear but remain intact. The surface responds to light, revealing subtle shifts in cream and neutral tones and a tactile nap that accentuates the graphic motifs. An antique rug that feels measured and restrained, its quiet pattern reads both tribal and refined. Circa 1985 - 2000
