Needle Point. This petite antique rug measures 1' 7" x 1' 9" and presents a soft floral medallion set inside a laurel-wreathed oval. A neutral ground of cream and ivory carries muted blue, sage and dusty rose accents that read like embroidered stitchwork. The wool surface has a tactile, worn patina and medium distress that reveals age and handling; edges show gentle fraying and a hand-finished scalloped bobble trim. Quietly atelier in spirit, the composition balances restraint and ornament, its faded palette emphasizing materiality and craft. Circa 1885 - 1905.
