This Tabriz in wool reads like a softened heirloom: an allover floral arabesque in a whisper-soft cream ground with faded coral registers and hints of muted sage and pale blue. Palmettes, rosettes and scrolling vines repeat across the field, the motif edges mellowed by time into an elegant, tactile patina. Surface abrash and medium distress lend a layered, painterly quality while worn highlights reveal the construction beneath. The scale of the composition is evident across the full 11' 4" x 15' 8" and affirms its antique rug presence without artifice. Circa 1890 - 1910.
