A refined Mallayer woven in wool, this expansive antique rug reads as a study in restrained colour and repeating boteh. The field is organised in staggered paisley rows, each boteh softened by floral infill and low-contrast outlining. A narrow triple guard and a scrolling boteh border frame the composition, while pale blue accents punctuate a warm beige ground. Surface wear and even abrash lend a lived-in patina that reads as graceful age rather than damage. Circa 1900 - 1915. Measurements: 11' 2" x 20' 6". The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
