A restrained Mallayer in wool, this piece reads in quiet neutrals and layered cream tones. The all-over field is punctuated by stylised palmettes and scrolling vine motifs, framed by multiple narrow borders whose pattern has been softened by time. Surface wear and medium distress lend a tactile, whisper-soft nap and gentle abrash across the ground. The borders show abbreviated highlights and minor edge wear that contribute to the rug’s lived-in patina. The piece measures 8' 6" x 10' 0" and reads as an antique rug with subtle, architectural presence. Circa 1900 - 1920.
