This Mallayer antique rug measures 3' 4" x 13' 3" and reads in a restrained palette of ivory, taupe, beige, and espresso brown. The long, narrow field is filled with a finely crowded geometric and floral pattern, framed by darker side borders that give the composition quiet definition. Its surface shows medium wear, softened contrast, and the mellow patina of age, with a visibly lived-in hand across the wool. Circa 1900 - 1915, it carries the balanced complexity and understated cadence often associated with Mallayer weaving, rendered here in a hushed, elegant register.
