This Kysari antique rug measures 5' 10" x 9' 0" and presents a finely worked pictorial field in silk, where pastoral figures, animals, and architectural vignettes unfold within a layered border of floral and temple-inspired ornament. The palette is restrained and luminous, with cream, gold, and pale colour notes softened by age. Its medium distress brings a graceful erosion to the imagery, lending the surface a quietly patinated presence. Circa 1900 - 1920, the composition feels both narrative and delicate, with a textile hand that reads as richly observed and still visibly refined.
