This Tabriz antique rug measures 1' 7" x 2' 1" and presents a finely composed figural scene in wool, framed by floral borders and a softly worn field. A central portrait sits within an oval reserve, flanked by flowering branches that lend the piece a quiet, story-like balance. Cream, pale aqua, red, brown, and black tones remain distinct, with subtle fading that softens the surface rather than flattening it. The low distress and generous fringe wear add to its character. Circa 1900 - 1920, it carries the intimacy and restraint often sought in smaller Tabriz rugs.
