This Mahal antique rug measures 13' 9" x 17' 1" and carries a quietly faded palette of ivory, pale grey, taupe, and muted blush. Its floral field is rendered in an allover, softly dissolved composition, with a faint border and the suggestion of a central medallion still visible beneath the wear. Circa 1920 - 1935, the rug feels generously aged yet composed, with an even, timeworn surface that lends depth without heaviness. The wool pile has softened into a luminous, almost weathered haze, creating a restrained presence shaped by age and restraint.
