This Kysari antique rug measures 5' 0" x 7' 2" and is woven in silk with a luminous, time-softened hand. A prayer-niche composition anchors the field, framed by layered floral borders, rosettes, and vine scrolls that alternate between structure and ornament. The red, cream, white, and neutral palette has mellowed beautifully, allowing the greyed central reserve to read with quiet depth. Circa 1860 - 1880, the piece carries medium distress, with visible fading and wear that lend the surface a gentle, atmospheric patina. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
