This Kysari antique rug measures 3' 10" x 5' 2" and presents a finely balanced composition in silk. A saturated red field is framed by cream and neutral borders, with soft green, muted blue, and floral accents that temper the structure. The design reads as architectural and devotional, with twin niche-like forms rising through the centre and floral panels above and below. Light fading and low distress lend the surface a quiet patina without diminishing the clarity of the pattern. Circa 1900 - 1915, it carries a graceful, collected presence and the luminous handle that silk naturally brings.
