This Mallayer antique rug measures 5' 10" x 13' 0" and presents a grounded palette of red, brown, and neutral tones with muted teal accents at the border. The field is worked in a dense allover repeat, framed by layered geometric and floral borders, while the pointed prayer-niche ends give the composition a clear architectural rhythm. Wear has softened the surface into a matte, timeworn finish, with visible abrash and fading that deepen its character. Circa 1880 - 1910, it carries the layered restraint and lived-in warmth that define a well-aged Mallayer.
