This Mallayer antique rug measures 8' 9" x 13' 4" and presents a quietly layered field of floral latticework, framed by narrow borders with softened geometric detail. Woven in wool, the surface balances cream, brown, and muted navy with traces of faded terracotta, creating a restrained palette that feels aged and composed. The allover pattern retains its rhythm even through visible wear, which has mellowed the contrasts and given the rug a low, tactile sheen. Circa 1885 - 1900, it carries the measured character and well-travelled softness that define a finely aged Mallayer.
