This Mallayer antique rug in wool measures 4' 3" x 6' 7" and carries a quietly layered surface of cream, ivory, beige, taupe, and warm brown. The allover field is filled with small geometric and floral motifs, set within multiple borders that still read clearly despite the softened wear. Broad bands of fading drift across the center, giving the piece a lived-in, atmospheric character. Circa 1920 - 1935, it reflects the restrained elegance and visual rhythm that define a well-aged Mallayer, with enough pattern to hold the eye and enough neutrality to remain grounded.
