This Sarab antique rug measures 3' 1" x 12' 4" and presents a long, narrow format with a calm, grounded presence. A dense field of repeating diamond lattice motifs runs from end to end, framed by a stepped geometric border and small end panels that soften the composition. The wool surface carries a warm palette of brown, cream, beige, and ivory, with visible fading and wear that give the drawing a quiet, timeworn depth. Circa 1880 - 1895, it reads as steady and textural, with the measured rhythm that defines the Sarab weave.
