This Mallayer antique rug measures 6' 9" x 15' 7" and carries a quietly weathered field of small-scale geometric and floral motifs, held within a series of delicate borders. The wool surface reads in layered neutral, brown, white, and cream tones, with extensive fading that softens the drawing and gives the composition a hushed, lived-in patina. Circa 1890 - 1910, it retains the elegant restraint and textural depth associated with Mallayer weaving, while the visible wear adds a naturally distressed character that feels settled and refined. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
