This Mallayer antique rug measures 6' 11" x 16' 1" and carries a time-softened field of floral and geometric detail in faded blue, cream, and warm neutral tones. The border reads clearly against the more weathered centre, creating a quiet frame around the layered composition. Wool lends a naturally tactile surface, while visible wear and diffuse fading give the piece its grounded, lived-in character. Circa 1910 - 1930, it has the mellow presence and restrained colour movement that define a well-aged Mallayer, with pattern still visible beneath the patina. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
