This Mallayer antique rug measures 10' 1" x 13' 0" and carries a softly worn, layered presence. The allover lattice pattern is rendered in faded blue, ivory, muted rose, and slate tones, with floral motifs and narrow borders that remain readable beneath the patina. The field shows even abrasion and luminous fading, giving the surface a quiet, lived-in depth. Circa 1900 - 1915, it balances structure and softness in a way that feels distinctly restrained, yet richly textured, with the wool offering a gently weathered hand.
