This Mallayer antique rug measures 12' 3" x 16' 4" and presents a densely worked all-over field of small floral forms set within a restrained lattice. The palette has softened into ivory, taupe, warm beige, charcoal, and faded blue-grey, giving the surface a quiet, time-worn depth. A narrow floral border frames the composition, while the field shows pronounced fading and a beautifully aged hand. Circa 1900 - 1915, it carries the character of an antique rug with high distress, where wear has mellowed the contrast without erasing the original rhythm of the design.
