This Yazd antique rug measures 11' 4" x 16' 5" and carries the softened presence of age in its layered ornament and worn palette. An allover field of repeating floral forms and arabesques is held by a patterned border that remains legible despite the muted surface. The wool pile shows medium distress, with visible fading that lends the composition depth rather than uniformity. Circa 1920 - 1940, it balances structure and patina in a way that feels grounded and quietly expressive, with burgundy, moss, slate, and ivory tones diffused across the field.
