This Mallayer antique rug measures 7' 3" x 17' 0" and carries a long, paneled field softened by age, with floral patterning that reads through in rust, cream, brown, and weathered blue. The border remains more legible than the centre, framing the composition with quiet structure while the interior shows generous fading and worn, luminous patches. Wool gives the surface a grounded, tactile quality. Circa 1900 - 1915, it reflects the restrained elegance and layered patina that define a well-aged Mallayer.
