This Mallayer antique rug measures 9' 10" x 16' 1" and carries a quietly layered field of faded geometry, softened medallions, and a restrained border rhythm. Wool lends the surface a dry, tactile hand, while the palette of cream, brown, taupe, and muted blue-grey settles into a weathered, tonal composition. Areas of abrasion and loss have blurred the pattern in a way that feels honest and resolved, allowing the design to read as atmospheric rather than formal.
