This Mallayer antique rug measures 3' 7" x 12' 9" and presents a long, narrow composition with layered floral columns, small vase forms, and an ivory border threaded with rosettes and vines. The blue field has softened into a rich, weathered ground, balanced by brick red, cream, brown, and faded gold accents. Its wool surface shows low distress and a mellow, timeworn hand that deepens the pattern rather than diminishing it. Circa 1900 - 1915, it carries the quiet irregularity and refined density that define the most compelling antique rug examples from the region.
