This Mallayer antique rug measures 10' 10" x 15' 10" and presents a weathered, collected surface in wool. A large geometric medallion anchors the composition, while the field and border carry small floral and vine motifs in soft coral, faded blue, brown, and ivory. The design retains its structure even as the surface has mellowed into a muted, timeworn patina. Circa 1925 - 1940, it balances pattern and restraint with the layered character that defines a well-aged Mallayer. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time. Subtle tonal variation keeps the drawing legible and grounded.
