This Mallayer antique rug measures 8' 10" x 16' 4" and presents a layered field of elongated diamond medallions, softened by age into a quiet interplay of neutral, white, cream, and green. The border retains a more legible floral rhythm, while the interior has faded into a haze of coral and muted blue. Wool lends the surface a dry, tactile hand, and the high distress gives the composition a beautifully worn clarity.
