This Afshar antique rug measures 3' 11" x 5' 6" and presents a richly worked field of nested chevrons around three diamond medallions. The composition is anchored by geometric borders filled with tribal motifs and small floral forms, while the palette moves between indigo, rust, coral, ivory, and camel. Wool gives the surface a tactile, time-softened hand, with visible wear that leaves the drawing honest and layered. Circa 1920 - 1940, it carries the grounded clarity and decorative density that define Afshar weaving. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
