This Mallayer antique rug, 11' 6" x 18' 3", carries a softly worn field in ivory, cream, taupe, and muted grey, with traces of blush that lift the faded palette. A layered medallion sits within a finely bordered frame, while repeating cartouche motifs around the perimeter add quiet structure. The drawing is attenuated by age, giving the surface a diffused, almost washed-light appearance.
