This Mallayer antique rug measures 9' 7" x 18' 6" and presents an expansive allover floral field softened by time. A deep dark ground holds scrolling vines, palmettes, and small blossoms, while the border returns to rust red with disciplined botanical detail. Teal blue, sage green, ivory, and muted rose move across the composition in layered tones, with visible wear that lends the surface a washed, atmospheric quality. Circa 1880 - 1900, it carries the understated grandeur and lived-in character that define a well-aged Mallayer. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
