A light ground border with scrolling blossoms frames the denser centre, while the interior shows layered ornament and softened contrasts that read as richly aged rather than uniform. Medium distress is visible across the surface, with abrasion and fading that lend depth to the wool pile. Circa 1900 - 1920, it carries the lived-in character and nuanced colour shift that define a collected antique rug.
