This Tabriz antique rug measures 3' 4" x 5' 4" and carries the quiet complexity associated with formal workshop design. A central medallion sits within a stepped diamond outline, while the field is filled with small floral and vine motifs in brown, neutral, gold, and muted blue. The borders balance rosettes and scrolling ornament with a darker frame that deepens the composition. Medium distress has softened the drawing and lifted the surface into a lived-in, tactile register. Circa 1900 - 1925, it reads as layered, grounded, and resolved. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
