This Mallayer antique rug measures 6' 10" x 12' 8" and presents a densely worked field of geometric and floral motifs in layered symmetry. The palette moves between brown, muted blue-grey, cream, and white, with a softened finish that gives the composition a lived-in depth. Multiple borders frame the design, adding structure around the richly detailed interior. Visible wear and fading temper the pattern without obscuring it, creating a quiet patina across the surface. Circa 1900 - 1915, it carries the balanced density and restrained colour shift often sought in a finely aged Mallayer.
