This Mallayer antique rug measures 12' 3" x 23' 0" and presents a layered allover field of floral medallions, vine work, and subtle lattice geometry in a muted, weathered register. The dark ground gives the design depth, while ivory, taupe, dusty rose, and faded blue-grey notes soften the composition with age. A narrow floral border and outer guard border complete the frame, lending structure to the expansive layout. Circa 1900 - 1920, this wool piece carries medium distress with visible fading and worn passages that add to its grounded, tactile character.
