This Mallayer antique rug measures 7' 0" x 16' 4" and carries a long, column-like composition softened by time. A faded central field reveals layered floral and medallion fragments beneath washes of ivory, brown, cream, and muted charcoal, while the narrow border keeps the outline legible with small-scale ornament. The wool surface shows pronounced wear, with broad areas of abrasion and gentle irregularity that add depth rather than noise.
