This Sarab antique rug measures 3' 6" x 8' 1" and shows the restrained elegance of an open-field layout framed by finely worked floral borders. The warm brown ground is punctuated by two geometric medallions in blue, rust, and cream, while the surrounding border carries a denser rhythm of small botanical forms. Wool pile gives the surface a tactile, time-softened character, with visible fading and modest wear that enhance its depth. Circa 1910 - 1925, it carries the quiet, collected presence that defines the Sarab weave. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
