This Mallayer antique rug measures 6' 10" x 16' 8" and presents an allover floral field softened by years of use. The composition is dense and rhythmic, with scrolling vines, small medallion-like blossoms, and a restrained border that frames the long format with quiet order. Muted brown, cream, and faded blue tones are lifted by patches of worn surface and subtle abrash, giving the piece a layered, lived-in depth. Circa 1900 - 1920, it carries the gentle asymmetry and faded clarity that define a well-aged Mallayer. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
