This Mallayer antique rug measures 8' 2" x 19' 7" and carries a quietly layered, timeworn presence. The field is washed in white, cream, and neutral tones, with a softened allover geometric structure held by a narrow border and faint inner framing. Heavy distress has lifted much of the contrast, leaving a pale, chalky surface with irregular wear and luminous variation throughout. Circa 1900 - 1920, it reflects the restrained elegance of a Mallayer with a long, elongated format and a weathered finish that feels deeply lived in.
