This Mallayer antique rug measures 6' 2" x 16' 6" and carries a long, narrow presence softened by age. An allover lattice of geometric medallions and floral tracery settles into a muted ground of brown, cream, and taupe, while the border remains quietly legible at the edges. The surface shows medium distress, with even fading, abrasion, and a gently worn hand that deepens the rug’s layered character. Circa 1920 - 1935, it reads as grounded and restrained, with a patina that allows the pattern to emerge and recede in equal measure.
