This Mallayer antique rug measures 7' 3" x 16' 4" and presents a long, finely balanced field of worn geometry softened by time. An allover lattice of floral and angular motifs settles into a medallion-like centre, framed by restrained borders that keep the composition grounded and architectural. The palette moves between ivory, cream, taupe, and faded blue, with areas of abrasion and luminous wear that give the surface a quietly layered depth. Circa 1910 - 1930, it carries the weathered elegance and tonal subtlety that define a well-aged Mallayer. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
